Eminem Ends Past Issues with Mariah Carey

In another excerpt from his cover story with Vibe, Eminem officially ends any past issues and the beef between himself and songstress Mariah Carey:

Last summer you released a record going at Mariah Carey. Why even bother?

You know what? I got to be honest. I really don’t want to talk about her anymore only just because it’s kind of like the last thing I said about her was on “Cold Wind Blows.” I made the comment. I don’t want to keep beating a dead horse. I’m not even going to comment about it. I’m done with that whole situation. I said what I had to say. I’m done. (via Vibe x Nav)

Recovery is on shelves now.

Eminem Talks On Retiring From The Rap Game

Last night we posted a clip of Tip’s stance on getting old and bowing out the game, and now Eminem has a little to say on the same subject, from the latest Vibe Juice Issue (out now). Excerpt below. Spotted @ RR.

…Honestly, I don’t know how much longer I have in this game. I’m always going to love hip-hop. But how much longer am I going to still do it? I couldn’t give you an answer. But the day that this is not better than the last will probably be the day I stop.

You sure don’t need the money. Well, I hope you don’t need the money.
I hope so too. Shit.

It’s hard to picture you quitting because you seem to really love hip-hop.
I do love it so much. But even if I was rapping at 50 [years old], I don’t now if I would put it out. I know it always makes me feel better to lay things to tape, and—”Lay the tape.” See, I’m old school. The fans might say the shit is garbage. You don’t know how long people are going to want you around…Realistically, if I don’t rap, what the fuck am I going to do? It’s too late to be unfamous at this point.

Eminem Recovers #1 Spot On Billboard, Reaches Double Platinum Mark

Em’s Recovery recovers the #1 spot he’s held with an iron fist since release after two weeks of sitting by in the runner-up slot. It climbs back to the top with 133,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan (down 13%), being the most weeks at No. 1 for an album since Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream claimed six straight frames at the top in December and January. Eminem, Rihanna Video Clip To Premiere Thursday

Shady and RiRi’s Joseph Khan-helmed clip for the volatile “Love The Way You Lie” is all set to premiere on Thursday, August 5th at 9 pm on MTV and Vevo. Also, below is a word from Em regarding the video:

“Joseph and I worked pretty closely together to make sure we got this right,” commented Eminem.  “Trying to make this tough subject work visually is a challenge.  It was great to have Rihanna, Megan and Dominic on board for this….they really brought it and made this video super-powerful.” (via RapRadar)
